Born in Nagoya in 1939, he entered his father Kanoh Mokumei's workshop in 1958 at the age of 19 and learned to make guitars. 1966, he became independent and started making instruments under his own brand, and since then he has been shipping high-quality instruments with great enthusiasm, making him one of the oldest veteran guitar makers in Japan. In addition to guitars, he also makes mandolins, lutes, and other ancient instruments, and is highly regarded in each genre. His classical guitars are characterized by a modest, even stoic tone, rich sound, and elegance, while aiming for a Spanish orthodox sound. The lineup includes a variety of short-scale models, especially in the 610-640 mm range, and is considered a pioneer in this category of high-end models in Japan.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of the brand's official outlet, No. 150, made by Kodama Kanoh in 2004. While the appearance of all Kanoh guitars is almost the same, the internal construction of each model (and often even the same model) is designed differently and with individual ingenuity. This is also the case with the 150, which is an excellent example of Kanoh's approach.
The sound, however, is similar to the brightness of the Spanish Antonio Marin, which also uses a bouchet-like construction. The back and sides are made of Central and South American rosewood, which is lighter in color than usual for this brand, and painted with a finish similar to an oil finish. There are some small dents around the sound hole on the surface board. This model was priced at 1,500,000 yen at the time of its release and is offered at an outlet price. Case is sold separately.
