[Profile]
Jose Ramirez is the most famous Spanish guitar brand in the world. This brand has even made the history of Spanish guitar making for more than a century since the era of Jose Ramirez I. In particular, the guitars produced during the era of Jose Ramirez III were both innovative and widely popular, and continued to attract guitar fans from all over the world. The ceder is mainly adopted for the top, and the inside of the both sides is made of cypress, which is used in flamenco guitars, to create a double-layer structure. The string length is 664mm, which is longer than usual, and urea resin was used for the finish. These innovations made by Ramirez III on the classical guitar were truly original and had a great impact on later guitar making in general, and at the same time, the sweet, lustrous, romantic tone, known as the "Ramirez-tone," came to define the very image of the classical guitar.

[Description]
Jose Ramirez III's flagship model "1A" in Indian rosewood, made in 1979, is now in stock.
The basic shape of this model was created in 1964, and the string length was changed from 664mm to 650mm around 1986. Until that time, the same specifications continued to be used, and the model became very popular around the world. However, from the 1960s to the early 1980s, the guitars underwent a number of minor changes to meet the needs of
the times, and each period has its own unique characteristics.

From the late 1960s to the early 1970s, Ramirez guitars were made with the fingerboard slanted from the 6th string side to the 1st string side, and as a result, the string height became lower and lower from the lowest to the highest note, establishing a unique playability.

This model was made in 1979,and the number 17 is stamped on the inside of the body.According to Ramirez official list of craftsmen, it was made by Enrique Borreguero Marcos(Enrique is the son of Modesto Borreguero, who worked with Santos Hernandez and Domingo Esteso in the Manuel Ramirez workshop). The acoustics of this work are very refined, with a very natural sonic character, as opposed to the same models from the mid-1970s, which sometimes tended to be unbalanced in their pursuit of dynamism.
Ramirez's earlier (up to the mid-1970s) distinctive, raw sound texture is refined here to a delicate, even, and light sound, but the romantic expression and lustrous texture that are the most characteristic features of the "Ramirez tone" are still present. The high potential of the 1A model developed by Ramirez III has been highly realized by Enrique Borreguero, an excellent craftsman, and this is a piece with a quality that is fully acceptable even today. There are no major repairs such as cracks, modifications, or repainting, and there are only minor scratches around the soundhole.
