[Profile]
Sebastian Stenzel was born in 1966 in Göttingen, Germany. Sebastian credits his origins to his father's love of Julian Bream records. He was a young man specializing in physics until he finished high school. But at the same time, from an early age, he excelled at woodworking and was drawn to guitars, building his first one at the age of 13. He naturally left his path to physics to become a guitar maker. From 1989 to 1991, he apprenticed with local guitar maker Gert Esmyol, and continued to build and improve while cultivating his own philosophy of making guitars. After passing the German Meister examination in 1996, he established his own workshop in Munich.
He has always had excellent woodworking skills and a good sense for making instruments, but his successes have been even more remarkable since then, and in 1998 he was awarded the Bavarian State Prize. In the field of education, he has taught guitar-making courses at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg since 2002, moved to Sölden in 2004, and in 2011 relocated his workshop to Emmendingen, where it remains to this day.
He also donates part of his income to an organization that works to save and restore tropical rainforests. His support of this work is notable as an example of the growing awareness of environmental protection and the formation of a sustainable cycle of instrument making.
His work can always be summed up in one word: 'Sonorous' guitars as the ideal to which he aspires. His inquisitiveness has led him to experiment with a variety of engineering, acoustical, and historical approaches, each to a very high degree of perfection. The fact that his guitars have always been based on traditional Spanish guitars is another characteristic of his work, but he has also added German acoustic tastes and mathematical precision to his guitars, which has made them stand out from the current of modern guitars and earned them a reputation as modern masterpieces. This has established his reputation as a modern masterpiece that stands apart from the modern guitar trend.

[Description]
Sebastian Stenzel made in 1993 is now in stock. Although it was made shortly after his apprenticeship, it has already reached the level of a masterpiece in terms of production technique and acoustic perfection, and is a stunning piece of work. The balance of the sound image is as if the bass and treble were connected by a single line, as is typical of Germany, and each note is like a cotton cloth wrapped around a rigid base note. The well-rounded sound image spreads out in front of you instantly. The expression is gentle yet dignified, and the slightly shaded sound is quite appealing. Its subtle changes give it an impressionistic sound. The harmonic function is also excellent, with both harmonic cohesion and inner voice identity. The player can fully express the range from fine to dynamic amplitude.
The appearance is somewhat subdued, but the unique design of the rosette and its precision, as well as the reddish brown, dark brown, and beige color of the purfling and other design elements, modestly accentuate the overall appearance.
There are some minor scratches around the sound hole and on both sides of the fingerboard, but they are not noticeable. There are some string spikes on the first string under the bridge. There are no major repairs such as cracks or modifications.
